Hal H. Hewitt

Hal H. Hewitt, 82, husband of Phyllis B. Hewitt, passed away Monday, March 23, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Allegan, Michigan on December 12, 1937 to the late Charles A. and Betty Counterman Hewitt. Hal was a graduate of Otsego High School and a 1960 graduate of Michigan Tech where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. He was an Eagle Scout, a Mechanical Engineer for Clark for 32 years and owned Standardbred horses for 17 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Joan Baldwin Hewitt. Hal will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Phyllis Britton Hewitt, sister, Kay (Roger) Henrickson, (MI), son, Eric (Linda) Hewitt, (MI), daughter, Dawn Hewitt, (AL), bonus daughters Lesley (Sam) Lawson, (KY), Sarah (Wes) Dickerson, (KY), grandchildren, Joshua (Hannah) Hewitt, Seith (Amanda) Hewitt, Jamie Hewitt, Nicole Roberts, Addison Lawson, Morgan Lawson, John Mac Dickerson, Samuel Dickerson, and Emma Dickerson. Due to current gathering restrictions, a private graveside service will take place at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego and a memorial service at a later date.
