Gregory L. Morris passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023 at his home in Battle Creek.

He was born April 7, 1959 in Plainwell, the son of Robert and Mary (Coburn) Morris. Greg was a gifted musician and loved playing the guitar. He played lead guitar in the band Midlife Crisis in Grand Rapids for 11 years and belonged to several other bands over the years.

Music was Greg's passion but he also loved animals. He was quick to care for any cat or dog in need. He also enjoyed camping with his wife and spending time with his family. On March 11, 2011 he married Diana Lancaster who survives.

Also surviving are his step-children, Josh (Katie) Lancaster, Jessica (Brian) Fitzgerald, Justin (Heather) Lancaster and Jeffrey (Jill) Lancaster; step-grandchildren, Caleb, Chloe, Alexandra, Aiden, Sienna, Cohen, Lillian and Valerie great-grandson, Grayson; siblings, Michael (Lorna) VanLent and Cherie (Joe) Reiss along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. Greg's celebration of life is planned for Saturday March 23rd at noon in the United Methodist church in Otsego. Please join us in celebrating our favorite memories and paying tribute with Pastor Jeremy Africa leading the prayer as well as a luncheon. A special performance from Mid Life crisis members Tara and Terry Kehoe, Steve Westphal Tim Sobee Steve Bloom, Chris Kohane and Kevin Paul. Phill Biggs will be performing a handful of songs with honorary verses to pay tribute to Greg. Tentatively a special performance of a few songs "Stubbs, Morris, Guard & Grill" If any other former band members want to bring a guitar please feel free as we have room during beaks in the MLC set as well as after. An open mic will be provided for friends and family to share stories as well.
