RUSSELL - Greg A. Russell, 61, of Clarksville, formerly of Baldwin, passed away April 18, 2009, at his home in Clarksville. He was born in Big Rapids, Michigan; he attended Baldwin High School, Parsons Business School, Western Michigan University and the University of Michigan Graduate School of Banking. He was a lifetime member of the Scottville Clown Band, member of the Ionia Concert Band, American Legion, Amvets Post 1988, Grand Haven Fraternal Order of Eagles, life member of the Loyal Order of Moose, member of the Michigan Republican Party, and the NRA. Greg served his country in the Michigan National Guard from 1969 to 1975. He was an avid deer hunter; He enjoyed performing, conducting, and listening to music. He was also an avid golfer and fisherman. He was a passionate Star Trek fan and served his community wholeheartedly. He deeply touched the lives of everyone he came in contact with. Mr. Russell is survived by his wife, Glenna Zollinger-Russell; two children, Jodie (Robert) Blake, Jason (Diane) Russell; four step-children, Kenneth Klynstra, Karly Klynstra, Joe Guzik, Nicki Guzik; five grandchildren; siblings, LeeAnn Russell, Scott Russell, Gary Russell, Jac Russell; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In liew of flowers, contributions can be made to the Scottville Clown Band, C/O Jac Russell, 403 E. Court St., Ludington, MI 49431. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Verdun Funeral Home in Baldwin, Rev. Vern Powers will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Arrangements by Verdun Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Baldwin, 231-745-4680.
