Gloria Savitt

Savitt, Gloria H. 6/19/1938 - 3/6/2022 Kalamazoo, MI Gloria Helen Savitt-Orr died peacefully Sunday, March 6, 2022, in Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born June 19, 1938, in Chicago, IL daughter of Adam and Helen (Gorski) Blockowicz. She attended St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital School of Nursing and became a registered nurse, working for many years in various doctors' offices all over the globe. On March 28, 1992, Gloria married Harrison G. Orr. She and Harry enjoyed traveling through all of Canada - including Vancouver Island, Western Europe -including England, Scotland, Ireland, Belgium, Holland, France, Portugal, Spain, Gibraltar, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Monaco, Gibraltar, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Russia, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland. They also went to Mexico or Jamaica every year. Her favorites were the South of France and Jamaica where they made many friends. Gloria's last trip to Jamaica was in February of 2022. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and her aunt, Susie Gorski, who was very special to Gloria and helped raise her and her brother. Gloria is survived by her loving husband, Harrison; brother, David (Mary) Blockowicz; nephews, Scott Blockowicz, and Brendan Blockowicz; niece, Lisa (Ronald) Skarbek; Harry's daughters, Barbara Gates, and Janet (Chris) Peters; and Harry's grandchildren, Christopher, and Julie. A memorial gathering will be held from 3 to 5pm Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S. 9th St, Kalamazoo MI 49009.
