Gilbert Wood

Wood, Gilbert 6/17/1936 - 1/4/2021 Otsego, MI Gilbert Arthur Wood age 84 passed away in Surprise, AZ. Gilbert graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and worked in the paper manufacturing industry until his retirement. Gilbert and Joyce married in 1963 and celebrated 51 years together. He was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts for many years and later in life was an intrical part of the Kendall United Methodist Church. One of his favorite positions was gathering and delivering food to local food pantries with his dear friend, Del Bassett. Gilbert's children and grandchildren knew that he was always ready to support them in any endeavor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, and parents Karl and Georgianna Wood. He is survived by his sister, Loretta Hutchens, brother, Douglas Wood and children, Brian Wood, Jeffrey (Terry) Wood, Nalani Zorola and Leilani (Daniel) Taylor. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Melanie, Heather, Justin, Meagan, Travis, Alyssa, Matthew, Sheridan and Zachary as well as his beloved great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held in Michigan with the date to be determined. Memorial donations should be directed to Kendall United Methodist Church in Kendall, Michigan.
