Gertrude "Trudy" Harper of Kalamazoo, MI
Passed away Monday evening, February 19, 2024. Trudy was born September 9, 1928 in Zeeland, MI the daughter of Ralph and Emma (Kloostra) Wagner. Raised in Holland in the 1930's to immigrant parents, six older brothers, and many cousins was only the beginning of Trudy's life. Her house had many windows. She was an avid bowler, and secretary of many leagues. She took up golf with Bob in their retirement years, continuing to play for many years after his death. Trudy loved to crochet and made countless afghans for family and friends, she loved gardening and reading, and was always ready for a challenging jigsaw puzzle.
On June 19, 1948 she was united in marriage to her loving husband Robert Harper, who preceded her in death on October 28, 1996. Trudy was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Anderson; and brothers, Nick, Arnold, Herman, Joe, Ben, and Ralph. She is survived by her children, Tim Harper (Cindy James), Jeff Harper, Peggy Harper; son-in-law, Ford Anderson; grandchildren, Joshua (Sandra) Anderson, Kristin (Tyler) Matoba, Sophie (Pearse) Narum; great-grandchildren, Corbin and Evan; and many nieces and nephews.
