Gerald Yahr

Yahr, Gerald Clayton Gerald Clayton Yahr, age 91, passed away October 26, 2022. He was born October 18, 1931 in Petoskey, Michigan to the late Clayton and Jean (Anderson) Yahr. Gerald was the owner of Long Lake Upholstery in Portage for over 45 years. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of Chapman Memorial Church of the Nazarene. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Nona Fay (Newell) Yahr in 1975; second wife, Edith (Baker) Yahr in 2015; brother, Ronald Yahr; and sister, Lucille Dunham. He is survived by his son, Ross (Betty) Yahr; grandsons, Christopher (Rhonda) Yahr and Aaron Yahr; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Nicholas, and Emily; brother, Marion (June) Yahr; sister, Karen Yahr; as well as family friend, Clarie George. A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 3 at 11:00am at Chapman Memorial Church of the Nazarene, 7520 E U Ave, Vicksburg, MI 49097, where the family will greet friends one hour prior from 10-11:00am. Interment will take place at 1:30pm at Ft. Custer National Cemetery with military honors. Those wishing to attend should meet in the funeral assembly area at 1:15pm.
