Gerald J. Winser, “Jerry” passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Milwaukee, October 4, 1925 son of the late George and Sylvia Winiarski.

Jerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Rita Cieszynski who preceded him in death in 1987. Jerry was employed as an artist for the Milwaukee Journal for over 25 years, retiring in 1985. On January 28, 1989, he was united in marriage to Winifred A. (Zlevor) Kirt. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, enjoyed painting and was an avid golfer. He was loved dearly and will be sadly missed.

Surviving are his wife, Winnie; children, Jamie Winser, Beth Winser and husband Mike Caplin, Tony (Michelle) Winser; grandchildren, Bill, Justin, Andy, Luke, Ethan and Julia; step children, Richard (Barbara) Kirt, John (Jacki) Kirt, Stephen (Sue) Kirt, Ken Kirt, Theresa (George) Markiewicz; numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, his beloved dog, Sugar. In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert (Harriet) Winiarski, and step daughters, Catherine Carbonneau and Margaret Hansen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Thursday, December 3, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., with Rev. Terrance Huebner officiating. Entombment will be held at St. Adalbert Cemetery, Milwaukee. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family Thursday at the church 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass.
