Gerald Hubers

HUBERS - Mr. Gerald Paul Hubers, age 76, of Ada, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 24, 2010. Born on April 27, 1934 to John and Anna Hubers, Gerry was a graduate of Grand Rapids Christian High School, Calvin College and Calvin Seminary. He served in the ministry of the Christian Reformed Church from 1960 - 1972. He then worked for Westinghouse Architectural/Knoll Group from 1972 until his retirement in 1999. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Hubers; brothers-in-law, Peter Cappendyk and Jack Versluys; and by his nephew, Timothy Hubers. Gerald is survived by his wife, Cathleen; his children, Cheryl and Kevin TenBrink (Kalamazoo, MI), Dr. Michael and Beverly Hubers (Troy, MI), Caryn and Christopher Hull (Caledonia, MI), Ben and Heather Cyllus (Nollensville, TN), Rachel and Steve Kirkham (Tampa, FL), and Weslee Tweedale (Ada, MI); his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Nathan (Jessica Sikkenga), and Jennifer TenBrink, Eric, Rachael and Alexander Hubers, Kristen Hull, Ross Kirkham, Ava and Ruby Cyllus. He is also survived by his sisters, Marge Cappendyk, Evelyn Versluys; and sister-in-law, Doris Hubers. A memorial service will be held Wednesday 7:00 p.m. at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Ouwinga officiating. The family will receive visitors earlier in the day on Wednesday at the funeral home from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 7 p.m. prior to the service.
