Ballock, Jr., George Scotts, MI George Ballock, Jr., age 89 of Scotts, died, under hospice care on April 6, 2022, in Eudora, Kansas. He was born October 23, 1932, in Clinton, IN son of the late George P. and Bertha (Walle) Ballock. George entered the US Army and during his station in San Antonio Texas, he met Shirley Brasch, a fellow soldier. Soon after their honorable discharge the couple was married on January 20, 1955. They celebrated 66 years of marriage in 2021. Shirley and George moved to Portage, Michigan in 1955 and later moved to Scotts. George owned his own business, George's Mobile Home Service. George retired in 1997. He and Shirley loved to go camping and fishing with their grandchildren. George's favorite place to go was the Soo Locks and watch the big ships go through the locks. George was preceded in death by Shirley on July 21, 2021. He was also preceded in death by a son, David Ballock, and sister, Helen Mae Frazer. George is survived by his children, Phyllis (Allen) Curtiss of Hudsonville, MI, and Donald (LaDonna) Ballock of Eudora, KS; daughter-in-law, Jan Ballock who now lives in Florida; grandchildren, Carrie (Mike) Kamm, Eric (Arianna) Curtiss, Daniel (Mindy) Ballock, Megan (Joao Cavalcanti Lembi), Emily (Cory) Barone, Justin (Bri) Ballock, Jordan (Shelby) Ballock, Andrew Ballock, and Mitchell Ballock; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with his family on Thursday, April 14, 2022, from 9:30-11 AM, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Burial & Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007, where his funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Entombment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George may be made to Cetntrica Care Navigators.
