Fredrick Murray

Murray, Fredrick Lee Kalamazoo, MI Fred, age 72, died Friday, November 18, 2016. Fred was born on November 24, 1943 in Battle Creek, MI, to Mike and Mary (Day) Murray. He worked for thirty two years at General Motors in Kalamazoo. He was known to many as a kind and gentle man. He loved to watch his children and grandchildren's sporting events, along with Michigan sports teams and he loved to fish. He is leaving a legacy of caring for others, especially his wife of 51 years, Patricia "Patsy," who preceded him in death in 2014. He is survived by his four children, Dennis Murray (Denise), Patrick Murray (Dani), Cindy Murray (Carla), and Kathy Sherman (Tim), along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren and his companion for the past two years, Becky Haywood. His generosity will be remembered by all who met him. His daughter, Cindy, will officiate his Memorial Service on Sunday, December 11th at Noon at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel, 9170 East D Avenue (M-89). A meal will follow the service at the Richland Area Community Center, 9400 East CD Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association , Michigan Great Lakes Chapter, 350 E. Michigan Avenue #20, Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
