Frances Phelps

Frances M. Phelps, age 80, of Portage, MI passed away Thursday September 15, 2016 at Rose Arbor Hospice. Frances was born October 26, 1935 in Bloomingdale the daughter of Richard and Hazel (Martin) Clark. She was a graduate of Bloomingdale High School. On February 23, 1957 in Kalamazoo Frances was united in marriage to Gerald N. Phelps who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Christine (Wayne) Mercer of Mt. Dora, FL; two sons, Stephen Phelps of Portage, Gregory (Anita) Phelps of St. Augustine, FL; brother, Richard (Betty) Clark of Paw Paw; brother-in-law, Terry Chandler of Otsego; five grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Michael Phelps and a sister Marilyn Chandler. Friends will be received 3-6 pm Saturday September 17, 2016 at Redmond Funeral Home, Kalamazoo. Private family interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of S/W Michigan.
