Obituary
Frances Vinola Brady, 98, of Galesburg, died November 18, 2024 at the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo, surrounded by her loving family. Frances was born October 21, 1926 in Decatur, Alabama to Fred and Eula (Pace) Jones. She retired from the Mead Corporation in 2001 after more than 15 years of faithful service.
Frances was a devout Christian and was a founding member of the Bible Baptist Church in Augusta. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing, playing card games & dominoes and loved spending time with her family. Frances married Harmon Lee Brady on August 12, 1944; he preceded her in death on February 24, 2016. She is survived by her three sons, Wayne (Nancy Doty) Brady, Dwight (Kathy) Brady and Guin (Dianna) Brady; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; a brother, Luther Clifton Jones; and a sister-in-law, Faye Moses. She was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers & sisters.
The family will receive friends 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2024 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Augusta Chapel, where funeral services to celebrate her life will begin at 10:30 a.m., officiated by Pastor Don Barnes of the Galesburg Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Centrica Care Navigators (Hospice).
