Eugenia Hayward

Eugenia H. Hayward, age 83, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on August 7, 2016, with family at her side. Eugenia was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on May 29, 1933, the daughter of the late Frederick and Lottie (Hawes) Koenig. She remained a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo where she raised her family. Eugenia was kind, loving and generous. She enjoyed being around family and friends, especially during the holidays where her home was always the gathering place. She enjoyed cooking and a meal made in her kitchen was seldom missed. Eugenia also knew how to have fun and enjoyed traveling and trips to the casino. Above all she loved her family and leaves them with many wonderful memories to cherish. On November 22, 1959, she married Carl Hayward who preceded her in passing in 2003. She is also preceded in passing by a son, Rick Chadd in 2001. Eugenia is survived by 4 loving children, Susan Hayward, George (Jacqueline) Hayward, Cindy (David) Harris, Mike (Mary) Mock; eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; four siblings; many nieces, nephews and friends. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 11, 2016, beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be given to the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan, c/o of the Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home.
