Eugene Pierson

Pierson, Eugene 8/4/1950 - 2/23/2021 Allegan Eugene (Gene) Roy Pierson, 70, of Allegan, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Ascension Borgess Hospital after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Allegan, Michigan on August 4, 1950, he was the son of the late Carl F. and Jean M. Pierson. He graduated from Allegan High School in 1968 and went on to become an outstanding automobile mechanic specializing in the field of diesel mechanics. While mechanics was his trade, he was equally talented in woodworking and welding. Gene had a big heart and was always helping someone in one way or another. He loved his family and friends dearly and right behind them was his love of bowling. Gene was an avid bowler, sometimes bowling as many as five nights per week on various leagues as well as serving on bowling boards. He loved the sport so much that he shared that passion by teaching children how to bowl. In his spare time, Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. Gene is survived by his loving wife of over 37 years, Marlene Pierson; five children, Penny (Daryl) Lemmen, Roger Pierson, Stanley Pierson, Pamela Maikoski, and Jessica Pierson; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl L. (Susan) Pierson and James F. (Vicky) Pierson; along with several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in 2021. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
