Eugene E. Simon, age 83, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016. He was born January 7, 1933 in Racine, WI, the son of the late Earl and Helen (Price) Simon. He proudly served in the United State Army National Guard for 18 years. Eugene was employed by Twin Disc for nearly forty-two years, retiring in 1993. On January 12, 1993, he was united in marriage to Sophia (Gurosh) Webber. She preceded him in death November 2015. Gene and Sophie spent their retirement years between Racine and Silver Springs Shores, FL. They both enjoyed traveling- especially on cruises- and playing golf. Gene also enjoyed playing cards, particularly with his sheepshead card friends, playing schafskopf, pinochle, poker, and bridge and going on trips to local casinos. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

He is survived by his children, Peter Simon ,Kona, Hawaii, Anne Simon, Baraboo, WI, Terry Simon, Naples, FL, and Tina (Dan) Gustin, Marinette, WI; stepchildren, Alfred Webber, Carmel, IN, Alan (Amy) Webber, Hubertus, WI ; son in law Ronald Reinhardt; grandchildren, Josh Cooper, Megan and Maggie Simon, Joe Gustin; step grandchildren, Rochelle (Scott) Wojczynski, Brandon (Leslie) Webber, Megan (Scott) Bednar, Kylene Webber, Tracy (Todd) Albers and Cassie (Arthur) Mason . Gene is also survived by his sister, Delores Phillips, Ocala, FL.; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. In addition to his wife, Gene was preceded in death by his parents, his son Donald Simon, step daughter, Nancy Reinhardt, step daughter in law, Linda Webber; brother-in-law, Gordon Phillips.

Relatives and friends may meet with the family June 16th, 2016 at 10:00 A.M., followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St. with Reverend Terry Huebner officiating.

Memorials to the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin have been suggested.
