Armento, Eugene Kalamazoo Eugene Armento, born to Philomena Laura Armento on November 11, 1947 in New York, New York passed away in his home in Kalamazoo Michigan, December 12, 2022. Eugene was preceded in death by his mother Philomena Laura Armento Price and his sister Phyllis Laura Price Vanatti. He is survived by one brother, James Thomas Rocco Price (Darlene), four sisters; Ruth Marie Price Whitford Krout (Clyde), Kathleen Theresa Price Rogers (Jon), Iris Marie Price Laycock (Terry) and Diane Sarah Landis Flenner (Sam). He is also survived by three generations of nieces and nephews and many beloved friends. Robert Earl Rollings of Terre Haute, along with his wife and two daughters, became close friends with Eugene and helped him to endure and thrive in his teen years. They made a difference in his life that he never forgot. Eugene spent the first twelve years of his life in a boy's home in New York and then was reunited with his mother and siblings in 1960 in Terre Haute, Indiana where he lived until entering the US Army in January of 1965. He served six years and was honorably discharged in January of 1971. Eugene made his home in Michigan after the service, working in security and auto maintenance. Eugene was a kind and loving man, who enjoyed life. He loved people and was involved in volunteer work at the Club House close to where he lived. He had a positive outlook on life and passed it along to others through his good nature and own joy in living. He had pets through the years and treated each one with gentle kindness and loving care. He was also a member of the American Legion in Kalamazoo, and involved with disabled veterans, donating time and funds as he was able to many organizations. Graveside Services and military honors will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery on Monday, April 17, 2023 at 2:30 pm.
