Estella Thies

Mrs. Estella L. (Walker) Thies, age 85, of Muskegon, passed away June 27, 2007 at University Park Living Center. She was born February 11, 1922 in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late William and Rachel (VanderWest) Walker. Estella married Leonard Thies on June 25, 1938. They enjoyed 62 years together before Leonard preceded her in death in October, 2000. Also preceding her in death were four of her brothers: Albert, Robert, Jerry, and Jack; and one of her sisters, Catherine Wagner. Estella enjoyed the family summer vacations, especially tent camping. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Surviving are her sons: Larry Thies; Gary & Myra Thies; daughter: Donna & John Dill; grandchildren: Bonnie & Mike Arens, Cindy Thies, Teresa Thies; great grandchildren: Christopher Arens, Corey Arens, Jessica Thies, Corey Stillson, Mercedes Stillson, Megan Cramer; two brothers: James & MaryLou Walker, Tim & Sherri Walker; and one sister: Carol & Robert Robidioux. Funeral Services will be Friday morning, June 29th, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1128 Roberts St., with the Reverend Robert Conrad officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening, June 28th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave. and one hour before service at the church on Friday (10 to 11). Interment in Egelston Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed Our Redeemer Lutheran Church Building Fund or Estella's family.
