Emogene I. Keeler, 92, of Hickory Corners, MI died March 18, 2017. Emogene was born February 14, 1925 in Springport, MI to Adrian and Belle (Hoag) Seger. She graduated from Springport High School and married the love of her life, Ronald Keeler, in 1944. She worked at the MSU Biological Station and Gull Lake Bible Ministries for many years. Emogene enjoyed crocheting, sewing, baking and making quilts. She was a Den Mother and a member of the Women's Auxillary in the Boy Scouts of America. Emogene is survived by her two daughters, Judy Keeler and Roseanne (Garrett) Hayward; three sons, James (Dotti) Keeler, George (Helen) Keeler and William (Judy) Keeler; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Keeler;12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one sister and one brother. Emogene was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; a son, Allen Keeler; a sister and two brothers. Visitation will be Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be Friday, March 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Southwest Michigan Hospice or the Boy Scouts of America.
