Elton H. Hiscock, age 93 of Portage, died peacefully on October 18, 2021, at Rose Arbor Hospice Home. He was born February 23, 1928, in Allegan, Michigan, the son of Harry and Leah (Van Patten) Hiscock. Elton was a 1947 graduate of Allegan High School. He served as a Sargent in the U.S. Army. For 39 years he was a television engineer for WKZO/WWMT, until his retirement. He was a proud member of the S.W. Michigan Woodworker's Guild and was a talented woodworker. Elton was a member of the Oakwood Bible Church. On August 8, 1975, he married Rachel Allen Blondell, who survives him. He is also survived by his children: Lori King and Tim (Rick Rogers) Hiscock; his stepchildren: David Blondell, Phillip (Nelda) Blondell, and Michael (Diana) Blondell; his 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his children: Richard Hiscock, Rhonda Triebold, and Robin Triebold; his son-in-law Michael King; and his siblings: Alice Welch, Lyle Hiscock, and Robert Hiscock. Friends may visit with his family on Friday, October 22, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Burial & Cremation Services, 411 East Centre Avenue, Portage, MI 49002. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the Oakwood Bible Church, 4100 Oakland Drive, Kalamazoo, with Pastor Steve Johnson officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery with military honors.
