Elsie Baxter

BAXTER, ELSIE MARIE Elsie Marie Baxter, born February 1, 1921, passed away peacefully and entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, February 17, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Lloyd D. Baxter. Surviving are her three children, James Baxter; Jean (Jack) Grinwis; and Jill (Harold) Canady. Elsie embraced and encouraged her grandchildren; Lindsay (Jeremy) Sharp; Brandon (Shelby) Grinwis; Kaitlin Canady and four great grandchildren. She was the very definition of the ideal mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be remembered for her Southern charm and hospitality. The family will meet with relatives and friends at the Reyers North Valley Chapel 2815 Fuller Ave NE from 3:00 until 6:30 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2012. Visitation will also be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church 2740 Fuller Ave NE Grand Rapids, MI 49505 with Pastor Kevin Sullivan officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.
