Ellsworth R. Machan

Died Wednesday morning December 11, 2019 at his residence. Ellsworth was born April 26, 1935 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Lawrence and Gladys (Cross) Machan. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with several paper mills for over 30 years before retiring. Ellsworth was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters, Norma Machan, Jean Green, and Hazel Laws. On June 30, 1953, he was united in marriage to Marilyn I. (Tassell) Machan, who survives. Also surviving are 3 children, Donald (Mary) Machan of Scotts, Ellsworth (Karen) Machan of Dowling, MI and Teresa (Joel) Prange of Zeeland, MI; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marge Webster of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Private services and burial will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
