Elizabeth Zuidema

Elizabeth "Betty" Zuidema, age 98, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on Tuesday evening, November 29, 2016 at Medilodge of Kalamazoo. She was born on July 27, 1918 in Edgerton, MN, the daughter of Magleonard and Gertie (DeKoekkoek) Tinklenberg. On May 19, 1937, she was united in marriage to Floyd H. Zuidema. Betty was employed by The Upjohn Co. for 21 years until her retirement. She was a long time member of Bethany Reformed Church. Surviving are her brother, John Tinklenberg; four half-brothers: Donald, Charles, Lauren and Ryan Tinklenberg; three half-sisters, Carol Demereck, Loretta Tolhurst and Clarissa Hansen; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband of 51 years, Floyd H. Zuidema; son, Brian Zuidema; two sisters, Jennie Boven and Myrtle Klop; brother, Nelson Tinklenberg; half-sister, Patricia Prouty; and three half-brothers, Leonard, Larry and Clarence Tinklenberg. Friends may visit with Betty's family from 6:30pm-8:00pm on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016 at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. There will be no services. Interment will be in Portage South Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Bethany Reformed Church.
