Elizabeth Haan

Elizabeth Helen Haan, age 101, went to be with her Lord on November 4, 2013. She enjoyed a long life filled with God's blessings. Mrs. Haan was born December 10, 1911, in Kalamazoo, MI a daughter of Dirk and Cornellia (Kraay) Van Eck and had been a lifelong area resident. On May 28, 1940 she married Mr. Dow R. Haan in Wellsburg, Iowa. Elizabeth was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Dow R. Haan, Sr.; a son, Dow R. Haan, Jr.; two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are: a daughter, Ann Barthelmess of Carlsbad, CA; a son, Kenneth L. (Mary Jane) Haan of Kalamazoo; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Haan of Kalamazoo; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2-4:00 pm Friday, November 8th, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. On Saturday morning, November 9th, visitation will be held from 10-11:00 at Covenant United Reformed Church, 3724 Lovers Lane, where services will begin at 11:00 with Rev. Jeremy Veldman, officiating. Private interment in Riverside Cemetery will follow services. Memorials may be directed to Reformed Heritage Christian School.
