Elberta Ellen Roseberry

Formerly of DeWitt, Michigan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at her home. Elberta was born on May 13, 1939 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Rysenga) Schascheck. She married the love of her life, Earl Roseberry on August 4, 1962 at Trinity Lutheran in Kalamazoo. They were married for 55 years when he preceded her in death on July 27, 2017. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1957. Over the course of her career, Elberta was an office administrator in schools and banks, she also worked in real estate while living in the Lansing area. Her favorite job was when she was employed by Upjohn Company in Kalamazoo. In 2000, after retirement, Elberta and Earl moved full time to Traverse City. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She loved being on the water, swimming, fishing and boating. Spending summers with her family at Leelanau Pines Campground on Lake Leelanau was her greatest joy. Elberta is survived by her daughter and two sons; Susan (Pat) Burton, Andrew Roseberry and Mike Roseberry. Also surviving are a sister, Betty Evans and a life-long friend, Helen Hybels. Elberta's family will honor her life with a private service on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, Michigan 49684. Rev.
