Elaine Klein

Elaine passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo. She was born October 29, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of John and Loretta (Gebert) Ackerman. Elaine enjoyed gardening, reading, doing crossword puzzles, traveling with her husband and meeting her friends at Baraga Manor for lunch. Most of all she loved taking care of her children and spending time with her grandchildren. On March 31, 1951 in Cincinnati she married Howard Klein who passed away in 2001. Surviving are her children, James (Debra) Klein of Akron, OH and Kathy (Chuck) Wolthuis of Allegan; 5 grandchildren, Justin, Nathan, Andrea, Josh and Dana; 2 step-grandchildren, Caleb and Corrie Wolthuis and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, John and William Ackerman and Jean Otting. Friends may visit with Elaine's family starting at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 24, 2018 at St. Margaret Catholic Church, until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Donald Klingler officiating. Burial will follow at St. Margaret's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Elaine may be made to Kairos Dwelling.
