Edward Leensvaart

Edward Leensvaart, age 91, of Portage, MI Formerly of Colorado went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 4, 2017. Edward was born in Denver, CO on January 21, 1926, the son of the late Willem and Lyntje (Lodder) Leensvaart. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of New Life Christian Reformed Church in Grand Junction, CO. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Roberta (Rosendale) Leensvaart; daughter, Jan (Roger) Klok; three grandchildren, Timothy (Jamie) Klok, Kristin (Donn) Carlisle and Kimberly (Chris) Kakabeeke; six great-grandchildren, Nathan & Brandon, Matthew & Ginny and Jack & Natalie; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 8th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Pastor Peter Van Elderen will officiate. Interment will take place later in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Heartland Hospice of Portage or New Life Christian Reformed Church in Grand Junction, Colorado.
