Edna Bowen

Bowen, Edna L. Plainwell, MI Edna passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo with her family by her side. She was born January 8, 1931 in Royalton Township, the daughter of Fred and Beryl (Cain) Howell. For many years Edna worked at General Motors until her retirement. In her free time she enjoyed golfing, gardening and shopping. Edna loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and celebrating Christmas Eve together. Edna was a member of the St. Joseph Country Club where she spent many hours golfing. On September 11, 1948 she married Robert Flowers and on April 12, 1956 she married Robert Bowen until his passing in 2011. Surviving are her children, Warren (Jenny) Flowers of Battle Creek and Dawn Heisler of Plainwell; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands; sons, Dale Bowen and Robert Flowers and siblings, Ruth Ann Locke, Linda Cain, Ernie Cain and Dorothy Musselman. Friends may visit with Edna's family starting at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, until the time of funeral service at 4:00 P.M., with Celebrant Mary Ann DeVries officiating. Cremation will follow. Private family burial of ashes will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sturgis. Contributions in memory of Edna may be made to Animal Aid of Branch County or Rose Arbor Hospice.
