Dorothy Warfield

Leora "Dorothy" Johnson-Warfield, age 101, formerly of Portage/Kalamazoo, passed peacefully on August 13, 2017 at South Lyon Senior Care Center with daughters, Barb and Shirley at her side. She was born on June 3, 1916, in Langston, MI, middle daughter of Don & Carrie (Keilholtz) Hinkley,

She enjoyed being a homemaker and we loved coming home from school to the "smell" of home baked bread. She was Valedictorian of her 1933 class in Hanover, MI. She was employed by Top Value Stamp Store for 13years.

On December 31, 1937, she married Leslie Johnson who passed away on July 2, 1971. On July 9, 1977, she married Wayne Warfield who passed on July 18, 2011.

She was a member of Cherry Creek Community Church.

Dorothy is survived by daughters, Barbara (Arnie) Hanson, Shirley (Bill) Disney, grandchildren: Laurie, Kelly, Steve, Ryan, John, step-grandchildren Brian (Sharon) Reed, Connie (Joe) Edgley, several great and great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Bercie Foster and Elma Bowersox.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 18 @ Life Story Funeral Home, 5975 Lovers Lane, Portage, MI, - tel - 269-344-5600. visitation 9:00 am - 10:00,

Service 10:00 - 11:00 with burial 12:00 Noon at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, MI 49012.
