Dorothy passed away Friday, March 20, 2020 at StoryPoint Senior Living in Portage. She was born February 28, 1937 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Carl and Ruth (VerPlank) Bultema. For over 20 years she had been a teacher's aide at Allegan Street School in Otsego, a job she loved and will be remembered for. She often talked of her playground escapades and would remember if you were naughty & placed on "the wall". Dot loved babies and all children. Her grandchildren & great-grandchildren were beyond special to her. She enjoyed knitting, reading, gardening and collecting beautifully illustrated children's books. She was an avid colorer and guarded her stash of books and pencils with vigilance. She also enjoyed volunteering with the adult literacy program through Otsego District Public Library where she was also the treasurer for many years. Dot will be remembered for her quick wit, sense of humor and her kind heart. She was the life of the party and will be greatly missed. In 1957 she married Colin Landells who passed away in 2016. Surviving are her children, Joette and Gary Krusinga of Kalamazoo, Jill and Glenn Moore of Lowell and Jane and Randy Korthase of Boyne City; grandchildren, Erin (Joe) Licari, Shea (Ashley) Miller, Colin (Amy) Moore, Jake Krusinga and Charlie Krusinga; 2 great-grandchildren, Clara Ruth Moore and James Moore; siblings, Lois Offet and Gerald, Robert, James and John Bultema; many nieces and nephews and her well -loved pets, Penny and Nick. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, William Bultema and Phyllis Peters. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of Dot's life will be held at a later time. Contributions in memory of Dot's may be made to Otsego Public Schools Backpack Buddies program.
