Van Hamersveld, Dorothy Mae Beloved Dorothy Mae Lindemulder VanHamersveld began her earthly journey on May 14, 1929, daughter of Ralph and Tressa Lindemulder in Denver, CO. She married the love of her life Dale Allen VanHamersveld on July 18, 1950, in Los Angeles, CA. They had two children, Michael Dale VanHamersveld (Peggy) and Terri Lynn DeJong (Jack). Dorothy's passions, besides Dale, include her love for and trust in God whom she knew through her Savior and Lord, Jesus; her 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; the retail furniture store Van's Furniture, which she and Dale bought from Dale's Father Herman and mother Magdalene and partnered in with Dale's brother Herman Jr; the churches where she belonged: Southern Heights CRC, Third CRC, and Church of the Servant; the cause for women in church offices through the Committee for Women in the CRC of which Dorothy was Director of Development; travels in most of the states and many countries on six continents; relaxing at Lake Michigan and Gull Lake; reading. Dorothy entered heaven on All Saints Day, Sunday, November 6, 2022. Dorothy is survived by her children Mike (Peggy) and Terri (Jack) DeJong; grandchildren Jack (Sonya), Paul (Elizabeth), Mike (Colleen), Lynn (Zachariah), Rachel (Aaron), Matt (Adeola), Sarah (Mario), Samuel, Sarah, and Nathaniel. Preceding Dorothy in death are her husband, Dale; parents Ralph and Tressa Lindemulder and brothers and sisters: Harold (Marge), Bill (Phyllis), Ralph Lincoln, Gary, Patricia (Gil) Contreras; several nieces and a nephew. Dorothy and Dale were generous people in giving of their time, money, prayers, love, and lives to people of all walks of life and to the cause of Jesus. Dorothy will be missed by many. Funeral service is at Zaagman Memorial Chapel Grand Rapids on Saturday, November 19, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation 10:00-11:00, and fellowship lunch after the funeral. Internment is at Mt Everest Cemetery on South Westnedge Street, Kalamazoo at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, with visitation 11:00-12:30 at Zaagman.
