Doris M. Vague, age 85, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016. Doris was born in South Milwaukee on May 17, 1931, daughter of the late Alvin and Catherine (nee: Deichman) Burmeister.

On July 7, 1951, she was united in marriage to Harold “Junior” Vague. Together with Harold, they operated Harold’s Tap for 46 years. After many years of hard work, Doris and Harold retired up north to their favorite place, the cabin. She loved to sit in the sunroom and watch the birds. Doris enjoyed knitting, Sudoku and Word Search puzzles and her collection of porcelain dolls. Above all, she loved being a devoted and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Doris will be dearly missed by her daughters, Cheryl Vague of Keshena, Jackie Vague (Karl) Nelson of Racine; grandchildren, Emily Nelson, Christina Vague, Joanna (Jeff Eastridge) Vague, William Vague, Kenneth (Sara) Vague and Lynn (Clint) Callies; nine great grandchildren; brother, Ron Burmeister (Sue Uebe); brothers-in-law, Robert Weber and Merle Vague; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was also preceded in death by her son, William; and siblings, Nellie, Eleanor, Carol, Judy and Marvin.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday June 23, 2016, 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Tony Larsen officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m.
