Doris Holt

Holt, Doris R. of Kalamazoo Doris Reva Holt, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. She was born on May 18, 1927, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Bernard Jones and the former Nora Dolph. On May 24, 1946, she was married to Milan Robert Holt, who preceded her in death in 2017. Doris was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Smith, and two sons, Steven and Andrew. She is survived by a brother, Duane "Buck" (Hazel) Jones and a sister, Donna Buckholz. Also surviving are four children: Mike (Marcia) Holt of Jenison, Bobbi (Bill) Truesdell of Kalamazoo, Dan (Beth) Holt of Kalamazoo, Scott Holt of Kalamazoo and a daughter-in-law, JoAnn Holt in addition to 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Doris was employed as a secretary before starting her family. She was a lifelong homemaker, devoting herself to caring for her beloved family. Doris loved the Lord and was a faithful witness for Him wherever she went. She served the Kalamazoo Covenant Church as pianist and organist for 45 years. A Celebration of Life for Doris Holt will be held at the Kalamazoo Covenant Church, 5708 East Main, Kalamazoo, MI, on Saturday, August 20.
