Passed away Nov. 18, 2021 with her family around her. Donna was born in Chicago, Il on June 24, 1944, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Galvin) Burns. She graduated from Immaculate Conception Grade School. She went on to graduate from IC High School, class of 1962, in Elmhurst, IL. On June 12, 1965 Donna married her high school sweetheart, Joe. She loved him fiercely, along with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Through 64 years together they moved 17 times, had four children in 4 states, and she always managed to make anywhere home. She grew up with a strong connection to her Irish Catholic heritage, and eventually established dual citizenship between the United States and Ireland. Donna loved to spend time on the lake with her friends & family, and really couldn't get enough of everyone she loved. She was very dedicated to her work as the Director of Volunteers at the American Red Cross for many years. Then, Donna moved on to become the Administrative Assistant at Paramont Charter Academy. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Madalyn Moran. Donna is survived by her husband Joe, children: Joseph Moran of Kalamazoo, Kelly (Jeff) Jacobs of DeWitt, MI, Colleen (Mark) Piefer of Algonquin, IL, Mary Moran of Bath, ME, grandchildren: Marilyn, Megan, Connor, Mackenzie, Finn and Reilly, great grandchildren: Khalia and Kingston, siblings: Thomas Burns of Minneapolis, MN, Peggy Cavalancia of Port St. Lucy FL., Patricia Rose of Houston and Kay (Joe Ben) Piccola of Dallas, many beloved nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Nov. 23 from 3 until 7pm with a scripture service at 6pm at Redmond Funeral Home. Visitation continues November 24 at St. Catherine of Siena church from 10am until Funeral Mass time of 11am. Rev. Mark Vyverman Celebrant. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
