Mrs. Donna M. Lamb, age 78, of Portage, MI surrounded by her loving family, Donna Lamb peacefully went to be with the Lord on August 29th, 2017. Donna, who was affectionately known by her grandchildren as Bebop, was born on February 16, 1939 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In 1957, Donna graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School. Upon graduating, Donna went to work for Durametallic in the Accounting Department until the birth of her daughter Susan in 1965. Donna was a homemaker who enjoyed collecting dolls and antiques, spending time with friends and family and sharing her love of Shirley Temple and Disneyland with her grandchildren. Donna married Robert (Bob) Lamb on November 22, 1961. They were happily married for 56 years. After leaving Kalamazoo in 1978, Donna lived in a few different cities with her family. First, she moved to Calgary, Alberta then to London, Ontario, then to Fullerton, California. In 2005, she moved back to the Kalamazoo area to be closer to her grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Mary (Yarabenic) Kennene, and a brother, Thomas Kennene. Donna is survived by her loving husband Bob, daughter Susan (Thomas) Sulka of Portage; 2 grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Madison, 4 grand animals; 2 sisters, Barbara (Roy) Laskowski of Ramona, California and Marian (Richard deceased) Hacker of Northbrook, Illinois, and a sister in law MaryAnn Kennene of Sebring, Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Private services and burial will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorial donations may be directed to the Kalamazoo Humane Society or the Animal Rescue Project.
