Donald Walter Johnson of Torrance, California, passed away peacefully surrounded with family and prayers on Tuesday, Sept 1, 2015 in LaCrosse, WI. Born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on June 8, 1930 to Walter and Irene Johnson, Don remained in Kenosha through high school. It was shortly after graduation that he met his wife, Marjorie Heck, of Racine. They married on November 15, 1952, and together moved to California, where Don began an aerospace career from which he would eventually retire after thirty-five years of service. An avid golfer, Don loved the game second only to his wife and family. He also enjoyed bowling and swimming in the beautiful beaches of southern California. He was a devoted husband, father and grandpa.

Don is survived by four children, Jerry (Michele Mayo), Larry ( Elaine Bustamante), Janice Schlesinger (Tom), Linda Niepke (Todd), a sister, Joyce Simo (Frank) and brother, Jim Johnson (Sharon) and 12 loving grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, in 2010.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 7, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Avenue, with Rev. Ricardo Martin officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society have been suggested by the family.
