Dixie Goette

GOETTE, Dixie Clare Kalamazoo Passed away Friday, October 31, 2014 in Kalamazoo. Dixie was born on January 29, 1937 in Wheaton, MN, the daughter of the late William and Clara (Bock) Swanson and was a resident of the Kalamazoo area for many years. She worked for the Mattawan Schools, first as a bus driver and then in the school library for many years. On September 15, 1956, she married DeWayne Goette, who preceded her in death on August 11, 2001. Dixie is survived by her children, Dennis (Deborah) Goette of Ypsilanti, MI and their children, D.W. and Dustin Goette; Dawn (Tom) Morrison of Kalamazoo, and their children, Amy (Garrett) and Kelli (Josh); David (Donna) Goette of Mattawan and their children, LeeAnn (Bryan) and Miranda; and Darcie (Steve) Johnson of Kalamazoo and their son, Hunter; her great grandchildren, Annalyse, Jakob, Bailey, Carson and Everett; and her sisters, Darlene (Arden) Hull of MN, Donna (Donald) Schultz of MN; her brother, Darryl (Donna) Swanson of CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Dennis Swanson, Douglas Swanson and Dean Swanson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 5, 2014 in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 PM.
