Deb, age 67, died Monday evening, May 18, 2020 at Borgess Place, Kalamazoo, MI following a lengthy illness. Deb, the daughter of Charles "Jerry" Bloomquist and Sue (Curtis) Jackson, was born in Kalamazoo on September 22, 1952; was a lifetime area resident and a 1970 graduate of Parchment (MI) High School. Within a week of graduating from high school employed at the Brown Company. She had some of the fastest typing skills of anyone in the area. Deb took time off to raise her two sons, but eventually went back to work at Western Michigan University and ultimately retired from the Kalamazoo Gazette as a transcriptionist. Deb was also the former owner and operator of Country Dcor and More in Richland, wherein she shared her love of all things country and fragrant. She enjoyed baking, cooking for her extended family, playing bingo, shopping, talking on the phone with her many friends, but her true passion in life was spending time with her family, especially the grandkids! Deb loved to help and support others. She was always a confidant and supporter of everyone she knew and constantly giving of herself to others needs. She was quick to make friends and cherished the many friendships she made at a young age and maintained her whole life. Deb made everyone feel loved and cared for throughout her life. Deb is survived by her two sons, Clayton "Mac" (Sydney) Waldorf of Gull Lake (Richland), MI and Ryan Michael (Ashley) Waldorf of Richland; four precious grandchildren, William, Charles, Ethan and Addison and her sister, Missy (Chuck) Bininger of Richland. She was a beloved aunt to Jeremy, Tyler, Kristan, Alyssa and several great nieces and nephews. Deb was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Julie Bloomquist. Due to the Health Crisis, a private family burial service will be held at Yorkville Cemetery. A celebration of Deb's life will be held when it is safe to gather again. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Deb's honor may be directed to the SPCA of Southwest Michigan, 6955 W. KL Avenue, MI 49009. The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel (269-629-6022) is assisting Deb's family. Personal messages and/or memories of Deb may be placed at www.farleyestesdowlde.com
