Dennis Walters

Dennis A. "Thumper" Walters, Jr., 47, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family. Dennis was born December 10, 1972, in Kalamazoo, to Dennis Walters, Sr., and Deb (Grandstaff) Pryor. On July 24, 1993, he married the love of his life, Teliza Darda. Dennis was the President and Founder of Iron Gypsies Motorcycle Club in Paw Paw. He was known as the type of person who would do anything to help others who were in need. His motorcycle club often held benefit dinners and benefit rides. Dennis was always willing to give out of his own pocket, rather it be money, food or helping someone fix their motorcycle. He was also known as a hardworking man who always did what he could to provide for his family. Many would describe him as a jokester, he could always put a smile on your face. He had a laugh that was unique that you could pick out in a crowd. Dennis had a love for animals, especially his pit bull Sierra. He loved riding his motorcycle, especially with his wife. Most of all he loved his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Teliza Walters; parents; Dennis Walters, Sr. of Martin, MI and Deb Pryor of Decatur; children, Jacob (Brittany) Darda; Dennis (Clarissa) Walters III and Timothy (Alana) Walters, all of Decatur; grandchildren, Dennis James, Madelyn, Chase, Hunter, Irene, Serenity, Zazzy and Aubree; siblings, Darla (Todd) Altimus; Destin (Nicole) Koppers, Carolyn (Sid) Brown; Sharon Cope and Eric Walters; Sister-in-law, Tessa (Scott) Morris and brother-in-law, James (Cristobalina) Darda, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date with his family and friends. Memorial contributions in Dennis' name may be made to the family, in care of Teliza Walters.
