Obituary
Age 57, passed away at his home on June 29, 2026. He was born on January 25, 1969, in Plainwell, Michigan, to Dennis Asa and Kathryn Lena (Maze) Robinson.
Dennis was a graduate of Otsego High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University, majoring in Automotive Technology and Management with a minor in General Business. He built a successful career as a software quality engineer in the automotive industry and as Senior Engineer with Commercial Laundry at Whirlpool Corporation.
On September 20, 1997, he married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Denison, who survives him. Also surviving are his children, Garrett Robinson, Eddie (Tyler Berndt) Robinson-Berndt, Isaac Robinson, Owen Robinson, and Marivana Robinson; his grandson, Callahan Berndt; his siblings, Suzy (Gary) Zylstra, William "Bill" (Edith) Burmeister, and Darren (Jenny) Robinson; his father- and mother-in-law, Jim and Ruth Denison; his sister-in-law, Susan (Tom) Mooney; his brother-in-law, Jeffrey (Angela) Denison; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Above all else, Dennis was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he lived each day with quiet humility, and a servant's heart. He found his greatest joy in knowing Christ and faithfully serving Him. Whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or behind a drum set in worship, his life reflected the love and grace of God.
Cars were a deep part of who Dennis was. A gifted and accomplished ASE Master Certified Automobile Technician, Dennis possessed a brilliant mind and an extraordinary ability to diagnose and solve even the most challenging automotive problems. Yet what truly set him apart was his willingness to share his knowledge. Throughout his life he generously gave his time, talents, and expertise to family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers, helping others keep their vehicles safely on the road.
Music was another of his lifelong passions that cannot be ignored. He was a talented drummer and percussionist, he played throughout his life, starting as a very young age. He initially played in a band in college and was eventually honored to serve on multiple church worship teams in the latter half of his life. He worshiped with a deep sense of authenticity, often through his drum set. He helped lead many others into God's presence through music while never seeking recognition for himself and his skills on the drums.
When he wasn't in the garage or behind the drums, Dennis cherished God's expansive creation. He loved camping, and spending time outdoors with those he loved, as well as spending time on the water weather on a boat, jet ski, or swimming. He found refreshment in the beauty of God's handiwork.
Those who knew Dennis will remember his gentle spirit, humble heart, quiet strength, and continued compassion. He had a remarkable way of making people feel seen and valued. His life was never measured by worldly accomplishments but by the countless lives he touched through his continued generosity, through love, and service.
While his family and friends grieve his absence, they rejoice in the hope found in Jesus Christ. They take comfort in knowing that he has heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant," and now lives in the eternal presence of the One he faithfully loved and served.
A memorial service celebrating Dennis's life will be held at City Church of Kalamazoo, 326 West Cork St., Kalamazoo, MI 49001 on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 11:30 AM. Interment will take place at a later date at Harwick Cemetery in Mattawan.
