Dennis Darling

Dennis Darling passed was on December 29, 2022 at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo, MI. Born in Green Valley, WI on April 13, 1937 to Vernon and Nora (Hansen) Darling. He grew up on a small dairy farm with farm values of honesty and hard work. Those values served him well all his life. While attending MSU he met and married Jean B. Kreager in 1964. The Darlings moved to Kalamazoo in 1967. Dennis taught at WMU for over 30 years in the Dept. of Industrial Technology andEducation and the Dept. of Paper and Printing Science and Engineering. Teaching was the core of his vocation. He retired in 1998. He will be remembered for his keen ability to solve problems and his craftsmanship of fine furniture and other wood products. He is survived by his wife Jean, his son Chad and his granddaughters Druanna and Lucie Darling. A Celebration of Life service will be held at prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Portage, MI at 11:00 am.m on January 20, 2023, with a gathering beginning at 10:00 am.m. In lieu of flowers, donations make be made to the Sosughwest Michigan Food Bank or Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for the Liturgical Arts Fund. Avink at www.amsfuneralhomes.com
