On February 8, 2024, Denise McDonald (née Lundquist) peacefully left this world to join her oldest son Sean and brother Joe. Denise spent a life in service for others in Chicago as a nursery school teacher, Victims Advocate for M.A.D.D. and the Illinois State's Attorney office, then in Kalamazoo, as a case manager for the YWCA. She gave voice to women, children, victims and the underserved. Denise brought friends, family and neighbors together with jokes, laughter and joy. She is survived by her son Brian (Kristen Rae) of Brooklyn, NY, sister Diane (Al) Fabro of Chicago, and sister Karen (Jeff) Matson of Kalamazoo. A celebration of her life will take place on April 13th at St. Clement Catholic Church in Chicago. Another celebration will be held this summer at Mill Lake in Gobles, MI.
