Delmar Wayne Breckenridge, age 88, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Casa del Mare, Kenosha. He was born in Mt. Zion, Iowa, April 1, 1927, son of the late Clair and Alice (Nee: Jaenecke) Breckenridge.

Del proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. On July 29, 1950 in Rockford, IL, he was united in marriage to Ruth A. Hohm. Del was employed by J.I. Case Co. for 36 years retiring in 1984. He was a member and trustee of Second Presbyterian Church. He also was a member of the “Over the Hill gang”. He was an avid bowler and golfer who also enjoyed playing cards, especially schafskopf, fishing, hunting, square dancing, and traveling around the country and overseas with his wife. Del will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Ruth; children, Clair (Cheryl) Breckenridge, Linda Breckenridge; 5 grandchildren, Nicole and Alison Breckenridge, Noel (Hector) Barrios, Brandon and Anthony “AJ” Campbell; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy (Harry) Roland of Rochelle, IL, Wanda Polson of Peoria, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Norma.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Friday, December 4, 2015, 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Alan McCalister officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Friday at the funeral home from 9:30 A.M. until time of service at 10:00 A.M. Memorials to the Second Presbyterian Church or the V.F.W. Post 1391 have been suggested.

A very special thank you to his caregivers at Ridgewood Care Center, Casa del Mare and Grace Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
