Deborah Kennedy

Deborah Frances Kennedy “AKA DK” 63, of Traverse City, Michigan passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015 peacefully in her home of a longtime illness surrounded by loved ones.

Deb was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 15, 1951. She was the first daughter and middle child of Katherine Louise (Lardie) and Francis Vincent Kennedy II.

In Debs early years she moved to Key West, Florida in 1972 working for the road commission and the county in Marathon, Florida where she ran Sombrero Beach. She lived on a Sailboat and traveled around for two years and spent her time on the water whenever she could. She returned to Traverse City, Michigan in 1987 where she lived the remainder of her life on the family farm raising her children, working for the public school system, and spending her free time gardening, kayaking and doing the things she loved.

Deb was preceded in death by her brother Francis Vincent Kennedy III (Vince), and her father Francis Vincent Kennedy II.

Deb is survived by her loving daughters Chantelle (McMillian) Dones, Ashley, and Chelsey Monaghan. Grandchildren Briana, Blake and Ashton Dones. Her Great grandchild Hayden Dones. Her loving mother Katherine Louise Kennedy, brother Frank Bennett and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at the family Farm at 9547 Montague Road, Traverse City, MI. On Saturday June 20th, 2015 from 2-6pm, with a celebration of her life starting at 3pm.
