Deborah Dockweiler

Deborah Hovinen Deckweiler was born a child of the Lord on January 24, 1950 and returned home on December 2, 2016. She had three greatest joys in life. The first was to be able to teach children to read, which she did for over 30 years at many Portage Schools in the area. The second was to take care of the "Motley Crew" of 6 brothers and sisters that her mother graciously left to her. But her greatest blessing was meeting her best friend in the world on Friday the 13th in 1973. Her husband, John continues to be the love of her life after 42 years of marriage, never to be replaced. Come share our love and celebration of life at Mass on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on the campus at Western Michigan University. Friends may meet the family at 10:00 am at the church. Come and celebrate. "Hawaiian" attire will be appreciated. The family invites friends to a luncheon immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers a donation to your favorite charity , Wings of Hope Hospice or Sylvia's Place Allegan Domestic Shelter will be greatly appreciated. We continue to love you all.
