David J. Russell, age 61, passed away on Tuesday March 14, 2017 at

Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha. David was born in Racine on January

16, 1956, son of the late Thomas and Sheila (nee: Cooper) Russell.

Dave attended Walden High School. On August 8, 1981, he was united in

marriage to Donna M. Scott. She preceded him in death on June 9th

1989. Dave was a highly skilled mechanic by trade. His passion for

wrenching began as a teenager in the driveway of his parents’ home.

Soon after that he owned and operated the Pugh service station at 4

Mile and Erie St. in Racine until 1980. He then worked for many years

at the Capitol Toyota dealership. He owned and operated The

Cornerstone Tavern until September 2013. TD Concrete was his last

proprietary undertaking. In retirement Dave spent time on his home

improvements and building himself a beautifully outfitted mechanics

garage. When he was not working, Dave loved finding time and good

weather for his motorcycles. He travelled many miles on two wheels

through the years. Dave had wonderful memories from his trips to

Sturgis, Daytona bike week and numerous road trips with the guys.

Life rewarded Dave with many lifelong friends who have been a family to him.

Dave is mourned by his daughter, Tina (Mark) Walek; grandchildren,

Cassandra, Mark, Kendel and Alexandra Walek; sister, Lisa Russell;

brother, Gary Russell; nieces Hailey and Hannah, nephew Ian, Aunt

Rita(Ed) Johnson Doonan, Uncle Corky Johnson and many many friends.

Relatives and friends may meet with the family at Preservation Hall

740 Lake Ave on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a time of remembering

service to follow at 7:00pm.
