David Olson

Dave" Lee Olson, of Kalamazoo, passed away Oct 25, 2021, at age 89. He was born in Atwater, Minnesota, where he spent many of his formative years on the family farm. Sixty-eight years ago, Dave married the love of his life, fellow Minnesotan, Marlys Jean (Nelson) Olson. After his stint in the Army, during the Korean War, they moved to Kalamazoo where he pursued a career in the propane gas industry. The Olsons would remain long-time members of Immanuel Lutheran Church. In retirement, Dave enjoyed interacting with the community at garage sales, fixing neighborhood lawn mowers, and reading a good mystery novel. Dave was preceded in death by parents Lawrence and Goldie, sisters Ellen and Doris, and brother Danny. Dave is survived by caring and loving spouse Marlys, brother Charlie, sister Karen, children Brian (Sandy), Brenda (Peter), Bruce (Cathy) and Brad (Joyce), nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
