Danny Hunter

HUNTER, DANNY LYNN Mr. Danny Lynn Hunter, age 64, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013. He was born in Cedar Springs to Maurice and Audrey (Brown) Hunter. Dan was a graduate of Cedar Springs High school where he played football and wrestled; he went on to graduate from Ferris State College. He married Coleen Michele Plumb on May 30, 1975. Dan worked for Progressive Die & Automation for 28 years. In retirement he built and operated Northwoods Kennels. He belonged to the Red Flannel Rod and Gun Club for many years where he taught Hunters Safety. Dan enjoyed hunting, fishing and cheering on Notre Dame. He took the trip of a lifetime two years ago with his wife to Ireland. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Shelly; daughters, Carrie (Stan) Kukla, Kristi Rice; nine grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Thomas; sister-in-law, Kathy Gabbert and Mike Shalander; uncle, Ray Hunter; and aunt, Carrie Zeck. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; niece, Amy Thomas; and nephew, Douglas Thomas. The funeral service will be 11 AM Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Pederson Funeral Home in Rockford. The visitation will be from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Pederson Funeral Home.
