Cynthia Stanford

TRAVERSE CITY – Cynthia “Cyndee” Ann (Sivek) Stanford, died Sunday, May 24, 2015 at the age of 60. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by close family and friends.

Cyndee was born at Andrew’s Air Force Base Washington, D.C. on October 7, 1954 to the late William James and Patricia Ann (Potts) Sivek. She was the oldest of four children. A resident of Traverse City, Cyndee graduated from Traverse City Central High School in 1973. Cyndee was a loving wife, an amazing mother, a trusting friend, and the best Grandma ever! She was an avid crafter, spending most of her free time card-making, scrapbooking, drawing, and stamping. Aside from crafting, she loved to bowl and spend time with her family.

Cyndee is survived by her husband Struther “Allen” Stanford. They were married in Traverse City on June 24, 1978. Also surviving Cyndee are her two daughters, Amber Pepellashi (Elton) and Brooke Stanford; a son Michael (Becky) Stanford; her grandchildren Madison June Stanford, Lauren Alexa Pepellashi and Laine Michael Boyce; and her three sisters, Debbie Sivek Majszak, Tracey Sivek, and Marcia Sivek (Vince Duperron); and her nieces and nephews, Nathaniel Majszak (Tamara), Rachel Majszak, Melissa Conradie (Dawid) and Benjamin O’Connor.

She was preceded in death by her son, Zachary James Stanford.

A Memorial Mass will be held 11am, Friday, May 29, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Traverse City. The family will greet friends starting at 10am. Burial will be in the Oakwood Catholic Cemetery, Traverse City. Memorial Contributions may be made to her husband, Al Stanford to help with expenses.
