Cynthia Kocien

Cynthia Jo (Snyder) Kocian age 63, of Portage, MI passed away Monday evening after a fierce battle with colon cancer. Cindy is preceded in death by her father, Robert Snyder. She is survived by her mother, JoAnn Snyder; her siblings, Robert, Susan, Timothy, and Valerie; by her three children, Brett, Lesley and Billie; and two grandchildren, Samantha and Bryan, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Cindy graduated from Portage Central in 1971. A loving mother and caretaker, Cindy cared for the mentally challenged. Known for her quirky humor and wit, she was a positive influence on many lives. She read voraciously, was a master of crossword puzzles, enjoyed gardening and loved to spoil her grandchildren. In accordance with her wishes, her remains have been donated for medical study, and will be cremated at a later date. A memorial service will be held at the Delton Moose Lodge off of M43 on Saturday, November 19th from 1-5 PM.
